Book is slightly slanted. Some foxing.Morningside is the neighbourhood in Manhattan, New York, where Columbia University, founded in 1754, was moved to in 1896. This collection of 'Imaginary Lectures' not only satirizes Walter Pater and his 'Imaginary Portraits' (and Walter Savage Landor) but also various professors of Columbia University, who have been portrayed by Strauss, Elliott and Schanck. An excellent prank!
