Description: Bruenn, 1796, Hcloth., (1), 32, (1) lvs., occ. staining. Hebrew. Israel ben Moses Halevi Zamosc (c. 1700-1772), talmudist and one of the earliest Haskalah writers. During his stay in Berlin he became teacher of Moses Mendelssohn. In 1744 he wrote a commentary on Sefer Ru'ach Chen, attributed to Judah Ibn Tibbon, on the philosophical terms and foreign words in the Guide of Maimonides. (EJ 16, p. 929).
