Zacutus Lusitanus, famous because of his learning, outstanding account of his skill in healing ... Mussaphia (Hamburg, April 1640) and laudatory poems by Jac. Fabricius, C.Sponius, J.I.Pontanus, J. de Lalovel, and a more elaborate poem by J. Rosales (16 pp.)., friend of Galileo and Zacutus 'and likewise an exiled Jewish physician, writes a poem in which he calls Zacutsu "the one who has replenished anew the ancient glory of medicine, enabling her again to celbrate triumphs" . The publication of these falttering letters and poems led to the view that Zacutus was very vainglorious.
