STACTON - Segaki.STACTON Segaki.
London, Faber and Faber, 1958. 8vo, pp. 198. Publisher's green cloth with white lettered spine in the original pictorial dust jacket. First English edition. With 'Segaki', David Stacton concludes his series of three novels, his 'triptych', concerned with various aspects of the religious experience. It is set in medieval Japan. The first novel, 'Remember Me', is a study of Ludwig II of Bavaria. The second, 'On a Balcony', is a evocation both of Imperial Egypt at a crucial moment of its development; and of the character of the complex and unhappy man, Akhnaton, who stood alone at its centre. The painting reproduced on the jacket is Persimmons by Fa Ch`ang. Dust jacket price clipped. Fine copy in a very good dust jacket.
