Description: Paris 1825. b&w plates, frontplate loose, waterdamage on most pages (it's handy to ask for photos before buying), admitting fully “that in these enlightened days it is the fashion to say that there is no such thing as illustrious blood!”, the author confesses his object to be to “open and trace the streams of royal and illustrious blood which have flowed into the Compiler’s veins in the Female line”, which will “(it is hoped,) give new light even to matters long since deemed to have been exhausted.” Predictably, he elicited contradiction.
