Bound in cloth-backed marbled boards, with the original printed wrappers bound in; annotation to first leaf of first catalogue. In fine condition. Excellent set. ¶ ~ First edition. Uncommon. Two priced sale catalogues, listing 1,915 and 1,527 items respectively, from the collection of the late Professor Taeschner, who died in 1967. Of particular interest is item 1408 in the Turcica catalogue, possibly the largest collection of salnames to be found outside Turkey at the time, offered for sale for 23,000 Dutch Guilders.
