Title leave (verso blank),  unnumbered pp. of detailed description to the plates, pp. of preface and list of plates printed on verso. 24 fine coloured plates after original watercolours printed on stiff paper, featuring detailed pictures from the Holy Land and Jerusalem, e.g. the Omar Mosque, the Salvator Church, etc. Together loose in its original cloth portfolio. German language descriptive text to 24 coloured reproductions after original watercolours by R. Julius Hartmann, whot travelled to Palestine and the Holy Land by Asia steamer via Gizeh (Egypt) with company Palmer, Kappus & Co. at the end of the nineteenth century. The reproductions feature in rather detail the topography of Jerusalem, the Omar Mosque, the innermost of the Salvator Church, Gethsemane, Via Dolorosa, Bethlehem, Kericho, the Dead Sea, Samaria, Nazareth well, etc. Complete set loose in its original portfolio. Good to very good copy. (ti.-p. and preface a bit foxed, text and plates crisp and clean).
