German language adventure story set in innermost javanese jungle at the end of the nineteenth century with as main character a local javanese tigerhunter by the name of Lubang. A picture is painted of javanese superstition concerning the tiger, man-eating tigers, a description of a so-called Rampok Party, influence of Islam, unfavourable characteristics of other population groups as Chinese merchants, Arab money-;lenders (sly and mean, rapists) and the dutch masters (brutal, tactless, kafirs). Scarce. (page 79/80 heavily damaged with some loss of text, part of text has been glued to facing lithograph, very skilfully restored as far as possible, otherwise a VERY FINE COPY, LITHOGRAPHS in very fine fresch condition).
