Dutch language youth story based on historical facts, with as main character a young dutch boy migrating to dutch colonial Indonesia, serving as a soldier under Jan Pietersz. Coen during the siege of Jacatra by the Sultan of Bantam, the founding of Batavia, the siege by Susuhunan of Mataram. The story ends with the death of Coen in 1629 and the retreat of Mataram.
