Moderate foxing throughout, tissue guards present, else a good set; day to day journal on the private life and conversations of Napoleon during his exile at Saint Helena, by an admirer of the Emperor of the French. Comte de las Cases' work was immensely popular and the first defense of Napoleon. This reprint, based on the first edition of 1823, was published 2 years after the reburial of Napoleon, which took place in 1840 in Paris after long negotiations with the British.
